Paul Mlakar, Jr., President

Paul M. Paul Mlakar, Jr. joined BiologicsMD as President in 2009. He has over 15 years of government, corporate, and small business leadership experience. He has spent the last 10 years leading start-ups and recently guided a company from $10MM in revenue to $50MM in 5 years. From 1995 to 1998 he served in the United States Army with tours in the Middle East and Central America commanding units in key humanitarian and infrastructure campaigns. Mr. Mlakar earned his MBA from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and is a graduate of the United State Military Academy, West Point.

 

Rob Gensure, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Medical Officer

Rob Gensure

Dr. Rob Gensure joined BiologicsMD as Chief Medical Officer in 2009. He is the inventor of the PTH-CBD medication and practices pediatric endocrinology and pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He is board certified in pediatric endocrinology and pediatrics. Dr. Gensure graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital.
 

Dr. Jim Shook, Chief Development and Regulatory Officer

Jim S.Dr. Jim Shook joined BiologicsMD as Chief Development and Regulatory Officer in 2009. He has over 35 years of experience in drug development and regulatory affairs. He has successfully guided over 25 drugs through the FDA approval process including 12 drugs with complete development and regulatory responsibility. Dr. Shook is a former executive with Abbot, Genentech, Vice President Research and Development at Fujisawa and Executive Vice President at Salix, Athersys and Quark Pharmaceuticals. He received his Ph.D. in 1969, MS and BS degrees in 1963 and 1965, respectively.

 

Dr. Robyn Goforth, Chief Scientific Officer

Robyn G. Dr. Robyn Goforth joined BiologicsMD as Chief Scientific Officer in 2009. She has over 13 years experience in functional protein design and protein production. She has published over a dozen scientific papers in the fields of biochemistry and bioengineering. Dr. Goforth has also been principal investigator and co-principal investigator on over $10MM in National Institute of Health, Department of Energy, and Small Business Innovation Research grants. She was named in June 2011 one of the top 40 business leaders under 40 by the Arkansas Business Journal.

 

Dr. Misty Stevens, Chief Operating Officer

Misty S Dr. Misty Stevens joined BiologicsMD as Chief Operating Officer in 2009. She has over 6 years of experience in biologics development with a technology start-up company as operations director overseeing outsourced manufacturing and toxicology studies. She has co-authored two pre-IND packages for FDA submission and has been co-principal investigator for over $10MM in National Institutes of Health grants. Dr. Stevens earned a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Arkansas, completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School, and received a MBA from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.
